Best excalibur umbra build 201911/23/2023 Enemies have to be facing Inaros when he casts Dessication to actually be stunned by it and opened to finishers. Also, Inaros' blind (I assume you mean dessication) isn't really that great. Excal Umbra is a special frame, but sure doesn't feel like it.įirst of all, finishers only restore 20% of Inaros' health, not almost half. There are frames that do everything he can but x100 better. I hate the excuse of "oh, Excalibur is meant to blind" cause that isn't true. He is also immortal, and killing a blinded enemy restores almost half his health, which is extremely easy to chain. Originally posted by ToxicFiend:There are frames better than Excal for blind, Heck, Inaros has a blind, that barely takes energy. First of all, I want to point out a few things since it seems like none of the other posts have mentioned this. Originally posted by peppermint hollows:Umbra is not really a good frame for fighting bosses, but he's definitely able to sustain himself and have some decent survivability. Of course, Healing Return is just a preference, you can use Life Strike, but again, that won't really help you much on bosses either.Īnd as others said, you can try to get some arcanes, like Arcane Grace, but they're expensive if you want to pick them up from other players, otherwise you have to fight some Eidolons. Now, it's not going to make you tank bosses, but you can easily wipe higher level content and still stay alive. This is obviously very good with a Chromatic Blade build. It heals you every time you damage an enemy afflicted by a status effect, and that healing becomes more powerful for each status effect on them. Lastly, I suggest looking into Healing Return. It's also extremely powerful if you can manage to get your hands on Condition Overload. This basically turns Exalted Blade into a status weapon and it can reach 100% status with the right build. I also suggest picking up Chromatic Blade. Also, you might want to throw on a bit more strength to make your Exalted Blade stronger. Stick with Umbral Vitality, Umbral Fibre, and Umbral Strength. Umbra is not really a good frame for fighting bosses, but he's definitely able to sustain himself and have some decent survivability. Rolling guard with 2-3 seconds of invul is really really good and underrated imo i use it on a lot ofītw the two mods mentioned don't need to be maxed out or anything, it honestly works decently with it ranked up to 4-6 ish (check videos on youtube to get a better understanding as it's weaker than u expect) Adaptation with its constant 90% specific dmg resistances work well in mobbing scenarios If you're still looking for survivability mods, here twp good choices that i recommend using For now, the only frames you should be bringing to fight Vallis spiders are the major tanks like inaros and chroma (the best boss killer atm) and for ropa, any frame works as long as u know how to avoid the lasers Arcane grace + arcane guardian works well but does have it's limits. It's one of his few ways of mobbing/surviving high level content.īut, if you are going against bosses that can't be blinded then u are pretty much screwed. If you didn't know, Excalibur's 'best' ability is actually his blind. Should I just stock up on HP restore towers/pads/gear items and use those? So.What do you guys suggest I run on this guy to keep him alive in the big boss fights if I want to take him along?ĭo I just ditch ability strength since Umbral Blade (his bread and butter) is now a separate weapon, and slap on more armor, health, or other such things?Īre there other must-have mods I should use? But when I'm fighting Sentient-based enemies I would kind of like to use the frame that's supposed to be designed for it. Now, I CAN always just swap over to my nearly immortal Rhino or to "Cheat death over and over with MULTIPLE ways to tank and heal and rez" Wukong. I looked into potential life-steal mods, and the only thing I can find is one that makes Melee Channelled attacks drain HP, which is helpful, but not so much in boss fights. Same problem more or less with taking on Profit-Taker. Like, I tried taking on Ropalolyst with Excalibur Umbra because, you know, he's supposed to be a Sentient Killer, and I got totally dunked on because he has limited survival potential.Įven with his heavy armor stats (buffed by no less than 3 armor type mods) and his boosted HP with Umbral Vitality, and even with my Sentinel popping a healing effect every 30 or so seconds (on top of almost every support mod there is), I get bursted down quite rapidly with no way to recharge. Ok, so I'm at the more late-game content nowadays, and I'm finding that my potential frame choices are often very limited by survivability.
